Pulverized Limestone can be placed in the crawlspace to absorb water, however it will not reduce bacteria growth, moisture, or odors. We recommend contacting a foundation repair specialist or mold remediation specialist for advice on proper crawlspace treatment. Thank you for your inquiry!
Yard lime is normally spread using a broadcast spreader; however, since this is a fine powder, this method is difficult at best. I purchased 4 bags and it was a chore using my spreader set on the largest opening. I had to continue to shake the spreader (not easy to do when it's full) to get the lime to come out. Spend a few extra bucks and buy the pellets
It really depends on how much of the lime the dog eats. Lime is mostly calcium carbonate so think of it as a powdered antacid. If they get a little it on their feet and lick it off they will be fine. A whole lot will cause tummy troubles. My dogs have been known to eat the pellet version of lime off of the ground because, well, they are dogs. They got tummy troubles, but they lived to tell about it. With the pulverized version I like to water it in after I spread it and the dogs seem to ignore it once it is part of the ground, under the grass. As an aside, the pulverized lime works in just a couple of days to reduce the yard's "doggie smell", but the "doggie smell" will return in a few weeks. The pellet version of lime will take some time to work on the "doggie smell", but will keep the smell down much longer. I have been known to put down both at the same time and just keep an eye on the guys until after the first good rain. Hope this helps
